some people swear by JL amps and say they're worth every penny. Personally i think they're built quite well and have decent specs but certainly arent worth the difference you pay over other quality brands such as JBL, autotek, dei, viper, orion etc

if you want a quality amp you'll get one with this amp but if you're looking for the best bang for your buck i would look elsewhere

I can’t find my paper work on that amp.
Is it a full digital amp or just a Class-D amp?
They’re not the same.

i think you might be talking about the infinity beta digital amps which werent fully digital. But were excellent amps.
this thread had some good info on class d amps if you're interested https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...=class+digital

They’re a little off on some small details, but a lot of good info in that thread. But they didn’t even mention Class-G/Class-H, some of the “funner” ones to work on, but not often used in the mobile world.

And even though the “digital” Class-D amps aren’t what you would consider digital, when most of the manufactures are calling them “Digital Class-D” or “Full Digital Class-D”, it starts to stick and become the nomenclature. But all that’s about it where the conversion to PWM takes place.

I always figured they made those amps and sold them at that price for the guys running the W7's since they have like a 3 ohm or 1.5 ohm coil (I forget which). I figured it was a way JL could pretty much force them into buying an expensive amp off them as well.

well it was somewhat based on the coil configuration of the W7 which i dont really understand. If they made it 1 ohm stable they would probably get twice as many customers.

I know a friend who has a 13.5" running it down to 0.75 ohm final and JL said they don't recommend it for everyday apps only comp with their 1000/1. Doesn't help that mark up is so much on stuff too. The same guy managed to get the 13.5" W7 for 200 bucks from JL cause he worked for an audio shop and could order stuff at the actual manufactering price or lower.

You might check around on ebay for them. I know sometimes you can get them cheaper.

Another friend (doesn't work there) who bought a 12" W7 from the same audio shop managed to get a 1000/1 for around 500ish brand new.
