covered subs

ok guys searching through the forum im seeing all these boxes where the subs are sitting right out in the open- has anyone made a little bit of a shallower box- then framed it and coverd it on top with all carpet so in the well its one continuouse piece of carpet instead of seeing 2 subs sitting there? i want some more bass but i hate the look of subs

thanks guys

andrew

That's how mine is but my subs have huge magnets so they had to raise the box a bit.

hey man thats a nice setup- hows it sound? did you cut holes out in the cover then just carpet it all or dud you drill like 1000 small holes or what? i just love the clean "stealth" look- the cars a 92 RS origional 6 speed with a 383 and T56 conversion happening right now- im trying to make it look almost like a stock 6 banger car i dont want to show off subs and stuff i like the stock look with the comforts of aftermarker and performance stuff ya know

If you look hard enough you can see that there are perferated aluminum grills under the carpet.I'll post pics tomorrow. It pounds really hard.I have set off car alarms a few houses down from me.

well if you have the shade that pulls amd hooks to the bottom of the hatch that would work

It sounds just as good with the cover on as they do off.

yeah i was thinking about just getting some mesh aluminum cut the holes out in the cover- staple it to the wood and then wrap it in the carpet. i dont want a competition system- just somthing that has some bass when riding around town with the t tops off- im just a fan of the more stock apearence

I had the shade in my firebird and it prolly saved me from a few break ins. I dont know how ppl just leave their subs in the open view or put a blanket over them... unless they live in a area where nobody will see them that are scumbags.
