changin the 6 by 9 for some Alpine what do i need
I just order some alpine 6 by 9 along with a pionner deck, Im getting the deck installed but I thaught that asking 40 dollars to change the 6by9 could be alittle to much, I just unscrew the panel and saw that the speakers were using a conector, a thaught it was just goign to be to cable connected to the plus and minus of the speakers
can anyone tell me what tool I need, supply, etc...
It lok like very easy but I just want your input
thanks

hey i have alpine type r 6x9 in the back of my camaro the only difference is the speaker wire has a box in the line that spilts the speaker wire into 2 seperate connections. so instead of having only one pos and neg running to your 6x9 you have two one for your cone and the other for the tweeter. super easy dont let someone else do that for you.

Cedric, all you have to do is cut that black box that crazy is talking about off the end of the speaker wire that GOES to the speaker. Then all you have to do is splice the two wires and if you want to go cheap that works, just run the wires through the holes on the correct sides of the pos and neg posts. If you want to spend like 2 bucks you can get some adapter that just slide on the post. You just slide it on the wire ( the one that will fit the post on the speaker, and use a wire crimper or something to crimp the metal from the adapter to the wire and your set. Do it your self and save the money! I can not believe they want to charge you $40 to do that!!!!!!!!!
They are ripping you off! I am sure they are doing the same on the deck too. All you had to do was go to your local walmart and buy a conversion peice to fit your car for like 10 bucks. You will need another adapter to place it in your car to reduce the size down from the old radio. It is like 15 I think from there. Then all you had to do was snap the conector to the old connector coming from the car and wire in the rest ( the wires are color coded and it comes with instructions). The other adapter just screws in. An easy 10 or 15 min job. Good luck on changing your speakers

well if the wiring harness was already cut then you will have to just tie in the wires from the head unit. You dont need that adapter, it wont even work now lol. Most of the wires are pretty much color coated if I remember right so that means you shouldnt have to much trouble finding out with wire goes where. If you have one of those manuals like S-Bob was talking about then it wouldnt be hard at all. Good luck with all of it.
