Powermaster Alternator
I have tried searching for this answer, but with no luck.
My question is this: is the Powermaster Alternator (PWM-37861 Alternator 140 Amp GM TPI/Fuel Injection O.E. Wire Hookup) a direct bolt on and does it have the two electrical hook ups I require.
Thanks for the help.

I don't know the exact answer to your question, maybe if you do not have any luck, try emailing the company/retailer selling them.
Also, may I make a suggestion... if you're looking into HO alternators, iragi makes an AWESOME HO alternator (a lot of them have high-output, but the output at idle is low), and it's a direct bolt-in.

I was going to get that exact alternator, but it turns out that you only get the 140 amp at high revs. Never heard of Iragi, where do they sell them?

Dominick Iraggi is a custom maker, you see a lot of his products on the higher SPL rides. Few members here have his alternator. I emailed him awhile back about getting a serpentine one-wire for my 90 formula.
Here's that email from Saturday, June 26, 2004 4:18 PM:
"I know the 200 will be a direct bolt on.. $319.00
its a 99% chance that the large case is still a direct bolt on even with the carb upgrade..
220 $339.00
240 $359.00
260 $379.00
280 $399.00
300 $439.00
Thanks, Dom"
I've also heard for an additional 100 dollars he will include a lifetime warranty. I've also heard he bench tests the products before sending them out just to make sure they put out what they say. Anyways if you do some google searches on him you'll find lots of good reviews.

hopefully you aren't trying to solve low-rpm vs low ouput concerns... because aaron7 is right... some of those high-amperage alternators actually put out less at idle than the stock 105 alts

According to Boomin Boy his 280 amp iraggi puts out around 40% at idle, which would come out to be around 112 amps.

I have the 140 Amp Powermaster Altenator. It was a direct bolt on.
All I can say is that I have been very disapointed with it. I don't even notice a difference between the powermaster and the stock unit.
I don't even have a powerful car stereo yet and I still have trouble keeping the car charged at idle.
Interesting. So how much does the stock altenator put out at Idle?

seems like the cheapest route is go with a lifetime warranty from autozone... and put a new pully on it... you can get much more amperage at idle that way.
