Compact sub options

What's a descent, compact powered sub that would not take up too much room in a 3rd gen f-body? They seem far and few between, wondering if any of you all could shed some insight?
Thanks, K

Saigon_Bob - that is along the lines I'm thinking. For now, if possible, I want simple and easy, just something to add some low-level to the system. Self powered would be ideal b/c right now, I don't want to have to make an enclosure, get an amp, etc. I have seen the bazooka tubes - ugly and even the small one takes up a bit of room in a Camaro. Anyway, if anyone else know of something that might fit the bill give a shout.

I had an HP series bazooka - 100 watts max (they were too embarrased to print an RMS value) - and it sounded ok, but not loud at all. Most people with a decent set of 6x9's (in cars that mount them properly) sound a lot better. Bazookas are made with paper cones, so they are highly efficient, but also easy to mess up and distort at high volumes. The newer models are more powerful, but I still don't know what they sound like.
Not sure how the Infinity Basslink sounds, but it has to be better than the Bazookas. It appears to take up very little space, since it has a passive radiator, but I'm not sure how it would fit in the well. They're way overpriced.
IMO, you're better off building a box and mounting an amp. I originally thought the Bazooka would be an easier install, but all the work is in running the wires from the battery to the trunk. The only additional time you need for building a box is in measuring, planning (math skills are a necessity), and waiting for the glue to dry (overnight is usually pretty good or wait a full 24 hours). The act of building it doesn't take long at all if you have all the tools. Just get an 8" or a 10" built for a smaller enclosure, build a box in the well, and you're set. It's worth the time.

FyreLance wins this thread... hands down.

I was gonna suggest this option too... I think you can fit this unit in the glovebox are and keep your car's stock appearance.

Might as well lock this thread now, and make it a sticky too.
