Need Help, FAST!

first off, heres whats in my system
Pioneer DEH-6400
Infinity Reference 4x6s w/bass blockers
Infinity Kappa 6x9s w/bass blockers
Legacy 450w amp
2 audiobahn 10"

so the legacy was just for a while, I put in an alpine 3555 a couple nights ago. was boomin around, and the components quite working, i figured it was just the fuse in the back of the head unit for the amp, but it wasnt blown, so i got a DEH-3700 from one of my friends and put that in. it worked for like 1/2 hour sitting playing with it in my driveway, and then this morning on the way to work, only like 3 blocks after leaving my house, the components go out again. what is going on here? pioneers help line is closed for the holidays

some less important questions, i plan to use the legacy to power the components after i pick up some more rca cables, how big of wire should i use to power that amp? how big of a wire should i be using to power the alpine (i think its 10 right now) i am also going to replace all wiring for the components (still stock crap right now) what size speakers wire should i use, and also what size speaker wire should i be using from the amp to the subs?

Was it just the amp and the subwoofers that quit working or was it headunit too?If it was just your amp and subs I would check and make sure its not going into protection mode. Check your gain levels and make sure theyre not up too high which could cause that. I wouldnt have it up passed 3/4 of the way.

to power your amp I would go with 4 gauge. What are the specs on the Alpine amp?And I would also go with 12 gauge speaker wire or so.

the amp and subs still work, just no components, head unit still powers up. i know it has to be the head unit, and i think its something internally

was that with the pioneer headunit when they went out on your way to work? or was it with your friends. If it was with the pioneer Id check all your connections from the speakers up to the hu,could be the speakers. If it was with your deck then Id say it was the deck but Id still check all the connections.

it did it with both of them. i had an extra 4 channel amp, so i just wired up the components to it, hopefully they will keep working. i think it prolly was some sort of wiring issue though, but all new wires takes care of that

You put the new amp on the comps right? Do this, get an ohm meter and check the resistance from the RCA ground to the chassis of the unit. I'm betting you'll fined and open.
BTW, if it's open you damaged your friends HU.

Bass blockers aren't rated past 50W RMS - I know this cause I had them at one point and tried it. The speakers cut in and out and eventually stopped working.
