Pics of AC duct Install???
Does anyone have a pic of anything (HU or screen) installed in the centre AC ducts?
I searched quickly but only found people talking about doing it, and no pics of it DONE or what involved with doing it.
Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

One of these days I'm going to cut up my spare dashboard to make a new trim piece for around the DVD player that looks more stock. The ABS one doesn't look too bad in person, but reflects the camera flash and looks odd in pics.

I guess that would depend on your talent level. It took me over a month, and required a 2nd dashboard that I could cut up and install. At least now I know what my firewall looks like from the inside.

Nice, and thanks for that.
Just a quick question;
Would the single Din fit without re-boxing the area like you have done? I was hoping a unit would fit in by removing the ducts and sawing out the middle cr@p.
Also, what exactly is in there behind the ducts? Anything 'solid'?

If you just remove the center bar between the 2 louvered vents, I don't think there will be enough room to fit a single DIN unit. I removed that entire front area and replaced it with that flat ABS panel. If I ever get time, I'm going to make a cover out of the piece that I removed to hide it, but that's not likely to happen for a while.
One thing that I would caution about is that on a car that gets a lot of miles, you're going to want to reinforce the dashboard to prevent cracks. These dashboards all crack in the corner above where the center console lines up to the dash, and with that extra weight on top, it's going to get worse. I reinforced the back side by attaching thicker ABS pieces with a plastic epoxy. I don't drive my car much so I didn't add any reinforcement up next to the DVD player, but if you drive the car much you should do that too. There's a metal support bar that you've got to remove in order to fit the unit there, so having something else there to support it would be wise.

for the screen frame, did you just cut and shape another center section? Also, what kind/size screen is that, and how did you get rid of the middle bar and still end up with a smooth flat surface on the inside? That looks pretty nice, I hope you don't mind if i copy your design sometime in the future.

The screen is a 7" screen.
I've got a step-by-step picture tutorial of the entire process on my sounddomain page. Just click the link in my sig. Making that housing took a tremendous amount of work and wasn't easy.
