i need help!! l@@k inside

i cant get any power to my amp at all whatsoever. i have tried everything. i have 4 gauge wire and an 80 amp fuse in a fuse holder. the fuse is good and all the wires seem to be hooked up right. i cant get any power from my battery. but i put the ring on the battery and screwed the positive terminal down on the battery and i get power to everything but the amp. whats the problem?? let me know what you think so i can get it all fixed by tomaro. if i did not give enough or the right information let me know.

your remote wire is hooked up correctly??? hows your ground??? did you try a test light on the power wire yet?

what i would do is make sure your remote wire is hooked up correctly.... then i would take a test light and see if the wire is acctually getting power....to where the amp power terminal is.... and then i would check your amps ground.....if all those check out.. well then you might have a bad amp

to test your remote wire (should be blue or blue with a white stripe) disconnect it and connect it to the power wire, if it powers on you know you had it wrong before (is that spelled right? before? i am a little intoxocated right now ) or you can turn the deck on and test light the remote wire.

if you are going to ask what a remote wire is, it is the wire from your deck that tells the amp to turn on.

i think that prety much summs it up...

right, time for more booze!

You forgot to capitalize his name... since there's no way that was sarcasm.

Considering you asked us pretty much the most vague question ever posted on these forums. What exactly were you expecting?

From your first post, I'd assume you didn't even connect a ground wire, which might be why ddn69 included that in his 'obvious' list. He wasn't exactly sure that this would be 'obvious' to you, I'm guessing.

Glad you figured out your problem

If it is so obvious, why did you ask your question?

Well you obviously don't have one of the three, and unless you're a water head, it shouldn't be hard to figure out why.

If you don't have 12 volts at your amp, then there's a discontinuity in the line somewhere between it and the battery. That leaves the connection to the amp, the wire itself, the connections at the fuse holder, the fuse, or the connection at the battery. Take your volt meter and work your way to the source until you isolate where you don't have power and you'll have your answer.

Oh yeah. I guess I skimmed over that part. How ironic that Capt. Obvious had his answer all along.
