Audiobahn AS46Q or AS64PQ
I've got some infinity kappa 2ohm, 3 way 6x9s on their way to me now (ebay sale..) and now I want some 4x6s. I don't really want to get the kappa plates (at 2ohms), so I was thinking of one of these 2 audiobahn speakers.
I've never seen/heard audiobahns here, I don't know if you can usually buy them in canada, so they caught my attention.
Apparently the 46's are 15oz, compared to the 64's 10oz magnet. Both are rated at 80W RMS @ 4ohms. The 46's appear to be a slightly higher level model, and is a "normal" speaker, whereas the 64's are a plate design. Also the frequency response is slightly larger in the 46's.
I'm leaning towards the 46s (some ebay seller has them for a bit less, but the frequency response is different, probably an older model...?), as most on ebay show virtually the same price.
Does anyone have any experience with either speaker, and can give an opinion? audiobahn seems to have much higher power ratings, there a reason?
Will this hold a candle to my kappas? I don't really want a lot of high frequency, ie. the kappas, in the front, since I don't want my eardrums to shred...
any input or thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

Have you actually listened to any of them?
There is a pretty short list of 4x6s that don't suck. Audiobahn isn't even close to making that list.

no, like I said, i've only heard of audiobahn products on the internet, I don't think they have distributors in canada.
I've heard they're just chrome, but a few members seem to support them...
I'm not really going for great SQ or anything, but could you recommend some 4x6s' then?

I haven't listened to any recently, but the only ones I've heard in the past that I liked were the Infinity plates and the Boston plates. Alpine may have had a 4x6 that I liked too, but I haven't heard any of their recent stuff.

I've got JL coaxes in my Corvette for the time being. I like them. The highs are a little flat, but the midrange is got pretty good detail while remaining very smooth and easy to listen to. Definately some of the better coaxes I've heard.
