Here is what mine looks like. There is a 10" Alumapro sub in a sealed box under the amp cover. Still gives me some room to store stuff, plus the sound i'm looking for. Hope that helps.

The problem with being able to see the sub is that it means whatever you surface you build into you won't be able to put stuff on for fear of damaging the driver. This means you loose the whole well if you end up with a well box.

You're either going to have to give up the well to your subs (if you want them showing), build a box like IROC350TPI's (nice box btw), or build a stealth enclosure, which is a lot of work. Stealth enclosure = turning the airspace behind your plastic trim in your hatch into a giant box. Lots of fiberglass work, which means a lot of time invested. It’s defiantly a few steps above my box build and I’ve already got a good 10-15 hours into mine.

IROC350TPI, I really like your design. I was wondering if you would be willing to share it. I need something similar in my ride. I think it would be perfect. If you could post or p.m. me the dimensions and materials I would much appreciate it.

Gummie have you ever thought about speaker covers on top of them? Then you can still see your speaker without the fear of damaging it.

jcurrieirocz I like your design. The diamond plate looks pretty cool. Also what kind of material is your speakers sitting in?

Yeah but most grills are not strong enough to have stuff put on top of them and are more for aesthetics than anything else. If you manage to find a grill that’s strong enough to have stuff put on top of it you’re probably going to end up scratching the hell out of it.
