Best amp for the money

I got 2 Infinity Reference Series 12" subs and my amp just effed up on me so I need a new one. I am wondering what the best amp for the money is. The higher the RMS the better. Prolly gonna get better subs when i get the $$$. If someone could help me that would be great, thanks.

What price range you wanting to stay in? I believe the Reference subs hold around 250RMS correct? ... We just got Infinity Reference at Best Buy ... just off first reaction, I'd go with something like the Alpine-M450, pushes 200RMSx2 and it's a small amp... plus it's a good quality brand for a good price($200). Give us more details on what your looking for, we'll hook ya up!

The last two lines tell the whole story: you're planning on upgrading in the future and don't want to have to buy two amps when you can just buy one nice one now. I would say to pull out the big guns and buy as large as you can afford and/or think you will need.

Three things come into play here.

1 - Name brands (Alpine, Kicker, Rockford, JL, etc) cost a LOT of money for the output you get.

2 - Internet brands (Elemental Designs, etc) will give you a much better product/price ratio (1600 watts for $350 brand new with a 3 year warrantee).

3 – E-bay, refurbished, and discount sites can beat the internet brands out when it comes to price but the question becomes whether or not you want a used/refurbished product in your car. My HU is a refurb and you can't tell by looking at it or using it. Looks/feels completely new. Ikesound is the best place for this kind of purchasing aside from E-bay.

ikesound refurbs are good deals, but there have been issues with their customer service. amp may not look the best being refurbed, but if it arrives DOA (not unheard of from them) generally they'll send you a working one.

eD nine.1's are good amps for the money, but at 350 i wouldnt exactly call them budget amps. if i had to pick the best amp for the money, (looks not being a factor) i'd probably go with the lanzar optidrive 2000d. things can be had cheap, like 200-300 new, are .5 ohm stable and do over 2000 watts rms.

I really like the directed audio/viper line of amps. Well built and ikesound has refurbs for CHEAP.

What about "Scoche" brand that they are selling at walmart. Its a 550 watt amp with 250 RMS for 95 bucks. I run one in my car and it hit really hard. I have two 12's in the well and once you close that hatch.... BOoooooOoooO MMMMM.. Its a really good amp. I had it for over a year now and not even a slight sign of failing or acting stupid.
I have Scoche wiring too and it seems like they are really good quality company.

Laters.

Zed = great stuff, especially at the price, but not the best value oriented amp IMO. I think that's what the orginal poster is looking for.
