think my Alpine HU will turn on 2 Kicker amps?

Im running to Kicker amps KX600.1 and KX250.2 and need to know what to do with the remote turn on wire from my Alpine HU? Can I get away with just splicing the wire into 2 or should I get a relay and do it that way? If I do have to do the relay, then would it be safe to just jump off the power dist. block for the amps? Im making a plate to mount my block and ground terminals where the 6x9 speaker use to be on the RH side of the car. I can mount the relay there if I need to jump power from the dist block to it. I need your thoughts guys.

I run 2 amps and a cooling fan off my remote turn on. The wire comes from my distro block to my relay and then off to the others. You could probably get away with splicing but the relay is a better answer. If you want a pic I can get one. Only challenge is figuring out which wire goes where on the relay.

You could probably get away with splicing it, but for an extra $5, I would throw in a relay. If you put too much current on the REM wire, you're going to burn it out. IMO, better safe then sorry.

There's a diagram for you.

Relays can be found at the auto parts store, with the other switches/fuses and whatnot. I paid $3.50 for mine

WOW. thats FANTASTIC thank you very much. That seems easy enough. I will just mount that relay right on the side of my dist block and jump 12 volts from it.

BTW, any certain relay I should buy?

If all you are doing is remote turn on, then fuse it for 1/3 - 1/2 amp at the head unit and run it to each amp. The draw is minimal and is only used as a switch - when you add a load such as a fan or more than three amps or so, you should use a relay.

Personally though, I would probably still go with the relay, so I have the option of using that load at a later date without having to rewire much
