LOL ,Translation for old Jimbo.
Basicaly Jim the guys askin for advice. He ruined a pair of 300watt 6x9's.
He wants to replace them.
He uses the 6x9's to handle the high to mid level output of the head unit.
He uses an amplifier to drive the bass.Probably to some subs of some nature. However does not intend to drive the 6x9's with anything but the head unit.
He has 200.00 dollars (American probably)to spend.
He has been checking on Crutchfield brand products.
Ok without more input such as head unit and capabilities...My personel preferance has always been on the low end Kenwoods. On the uper end(if ya wanna call them upper end)are Infinity.
My taste in music ranges from CCR to CDB in country ,Jimi and AC/DC to Rob Zombie and Metalica or Mega death in rock/metal ,ICP and Twizted to NWA and Luda in rap.
I run an Awia deck with a 120 watt pair of 4x6" in the front dash with high pass filters ,a pair of 120-150 (if i remember right)3 way 6x9" infinitys in the sail panels. These are off the high out put from the deck. And either my Petra junk box with unknown name amp or my infinity referance amp and sub off the low output.(RCA jacks)I have a bottom end(cheap)EQ before the sub box right now just for level control.Too hard to reach the level controls on the amp in the back hatch area from the front seats while driveing.
I know my ears are usually ringing after an hours drive home from work.
Hope this 50 cents helps.

Thanks for the translation.
Here's my 1.5 cents:
If you blew up your pioneers and you're just running them on the head unit power, then you'll blow up your next pair of speakers too. Those Pioneers should easily cope with head unit power unless you abused the **** out of them and drove a clipped signal into them all day long.
If you have a subwoofer, make sure that you have the high-pass filter on the head unit set up for those 6x9s so that your head unit isn't wasting all it's power trying to reproduce the bass. If you don't have a sub and you keep cranking the bass-heavy songs, you'll blow up every 6x9 you put back there.

Now jim I've had kenwoods seperate at the diaphram b4 they weren't more than a yr old either seems the glue used ta hole em together was **** poor. Many consider that a blown speaker.Especially if ta don't know a good strong and flexiable glue to repair em with. The distortion as ya know becomes unbearable when that happens.I only consider a speaker blown if it A' smokes or B' locks-up.

well, mechanical failure is always a possibility, but those are much less common than abuse-related failures, and often they can be covered by warranty since the glue tends to fail relatively soon.
I've seen a lot of cases where the glue separates from cast baskets, and I've also seen cases where it won't stick to poly cones. Usually when a company has this issue, they have it on every speaker that goes out the door, so it usually doesn't take them very long to find a better glue.

my infinity 6x9's were like that thats how i got em for free.LOL I used some awsome adhesive to fixx em (lotsa flexx)and they sound good as new.But I've been rebuilding stuff like that in communications eq for railbuggy riders for dang near 15 yrs now..But when yer listenin to CB yer not worried about tones as much as just clarity of words. But same principles in essance apply to the mechanice.Just a more flexable adhesive.Gotta try ta run out to the shed and get that glue so can recomend it.
