Stupid speakers.. need help with +- AB

I'm hard pressed to find some 4x6's to actually fit in the front of the TA .. but for now im going to put the factory speakers in .. im removing my stereo. and i had kick panels in .. but now going back to factory (thinking of selling) ... so i have a set of factory 4x6's which say A B on them.. not necessarily out of the TA but are GM ... anyone know what is + and what is - ? .. of course wiring was pre-hacked so i have no connector on the harness end.

Thanks.

I was told you could put 12 volts on the speaker and if the cone raised the polarity was correct. If the cone retracted the polarity is rolled.

A 9volt battery works as well. I made a polarity tester for speakers using one.

I believe A is positive, this is true for all the models that have A/B stamped on the speaker/plug. Double check using a 9 volt for certainty.

This is an honest question...

Does it really matter?

I know for subs you have to worry about polarity if they are in the same enclosure, but how would small speakers, far from other speakers be affected?

The sound will be distorted somewhat at certain ranges. No more than it take s to wire them correctly why would you not?
