Re: 2 questions about subs
why dont you do what i did for a while , buy a sub box like this one
http://cgi.ebay.com/10-IN-ROCKFORD-F...QQcmdZViewItem
(JUST AN EXAMPLE , YOU WOULD NEED TO MEASURE FOR CLEARENCE ISSUES WITH THE WINDOW LIKE I DID)
stick your sub in it and it will still sound 100x better then a plate
my truck box i bought sat like 1 inch taller then my seat with the subwoofer firing upwords kind towards the hatch , if you need 2 buy 2 or buy a single box just make sure it will fit back there

Re: 2 questions about subs
as an audio shop owner i'd suggest getting a custom prefab box from eBay that has the proper ammount of airspace for what your subs reccomend ... I say a prefabricated box because it can get quite expensive and time consuming making a box to sit down in the trunk compartment that can be removed ... there are some sold on auction sites just make sure to get a box that is for your year vehicle, size of subwoofers, and proper airspace. you can find out the propper ammount of airspace by checking with the manufacturer. Personally I find that those specs are a little shy of excelent quality so i'd generally add about 25% to the airspace volume.

. I have built 3 sub boxes for my car and they were all nothing but time consuming. I went from 4 L7 12's to 3 L7 10's, now i am thinking of 3 L7 8's. For me to use my cubby i put my box on piano hinge, so it just folded over. And Sony isnt as bad as most people think, plus some people cant afford audiophile, diamond and kicker, or others that I havent mentioned. As for the box, personally I wouldnt use a plate they suck... but thats my opinion, I prefer a nice tightly sealed box! Thread Starter

Re: 2 questions about subs
