WIREING SETUP 83 Z28

I AM IN NEED OF WIRING LAYOUT FOR 83Z RADIO (COLORS AND WHAT THEY GO TO)AS I AM CONSIDERING PUTTING A CD PLAYER IN IT AND IT STILL HAS THE STOCK AM/FM CASSETTE IN IT.IT WORKS OK BUT COULD USE SOME BETTER TUNES

if you still have the original radio and it works...why not spend $5 and go to walmart or your local audio shop, and just get the adapter (if they have it obviously, i don't know if you've checked), they got the one for my '84 maro, but i don't know about '83, but they already color coat the wires for the aftermarket stereo, then it's all just plug and play! I agree, if the factory wiring hasn't been cut, go get the adapter kit.
It makes installing so much easier, and less of a hack job.

I totally agree about the adapter, except sometimes they don't work. I helped my friend put a new head unit in his grand am and we bought the adapter, which said it was for his car, and it wasn't even close.
