Re: 2 fast 2 furious speaker box

I'm pretty sure you'd have to make with. well, I'm sure if you beat your car up enough and get some primer parts and shitty motor, you can submit to Pimp My Ride and they'll definitely do it...
Seriously though, it wouldn't be rocket science to make, just alot of fab and alot of fiberglass and specially creativity (think Monster Garage). Honestly, I'd say you could use actual components from the vehicle. I'm currently using a headlight motor that usually goes on my Firebird headlight, as a bottle opener for my nitrous bottle. Also, you'd have to consider if its a daily driver or show car...
what did you have in mind? an opening shelf in the well area in the trunk?

Doesn't sound ***** to me, it sounds what I've heard referred to as "high profile" like the people with trucks with monitors in the headrests. In a two-seater cab.

I quote my roommate, "That ****'s just for haters to hate on yo."

Re: 2 fast 2 furious speaker box

There was an article of a red 69 chevelle with 18s an 20s airbags Overall clean car

with a Motorized Amp rack that would jump out of the trunk Unfortently i cant find the Online article and i just threw away the magazine..

It looked cool

But Forget all that if your tired of the same Box build a different one...

Bigger tune the port lower or get more power LOL

I had a Treo TSX 15 in a 5cube 33hz enclosure powered by a T1000bd 139db on music Jeezy Hynotize

10 cubes 28hz on my next project

Headlight motors are not going to lift speakers----they barely open the headlights on these cars

+1 No way. I would personally use some sort of linear actuator. You can get them in various stroke lengths and they should be rather easy to hook up.

Re: 2 fast 2 furious speaker box

I agree. I was just using the headlight motor as a creative reference. The motor itself actually has good rotary torque, but no suitable for this application, I agree with actuator usage the best...
Think up the plan and we'll try to let you know how the mechanisms will work...

Re: 2 fast 2 furious speaker box

i was gonna have the woofers in the well under the "platform" the motor would flip open.. i was thinkin of having an amp or 2 on the platform then it flips open and there the woofers are... here is a quick sketch of what i mean.. its the top view of what i want.. the split is where it will open.. so i would need two motors.. the woofers would be underneath... what would u suggest for a motor.. thanks for all the input

Re: 2 fast 2 furious speaker box

why not mount the amps underneath so that when motored open, it would be seen, but if sitting in walmart parking lot it woud'nt attract any unneeded attention. Either that or create like the cargo area hard cover, put the amps underneath so somewhere else, and have the subs underneath so that you can flip open the lid like you would for the cargo area cover, of which can be motorized if you wanted to spend the extra money.

Sounds like a rattling issue waiting to happen though. A lot to be worked out.

Re: 2 fast 2 furious speaker box

you should probably start looking for some actuators, I saw them on ebay for many different prices and lengths. You can get two "shorter" ones with plenty of strength, and mount them close to the hinges to get the max amount of lift...
