2 subs, one box, one travels way more than the other
i have two rockford fosgate 10" ps 4ohm shallow mount subs, and the coresponding rockford amp that i had hooked up to the in my truck. i put them in a custom box in the z, and the left sub (further from amp than the right sub so has longer wire) travels alot more than the right sub, as in movement of the speaker cone. i have no idea why, does anyone? thanks, alex

Possible that the one not moving as much the wire came off? So it's not really playing but just the back pressure from the other sub is making it move?

try turning on ur stereo and unhook one channel at a time and see if the sub thats still hooked up to ur amp is playing then hook it back up and unhook the other channel and the other sub should play if not then u have a wire unhooked.

Re: 2 subs, one box, one travels way more than the other
thanks for all the help guys! i figured it out. apparently, the positive and negitive signs on the sub itself are backwards? because when i hooked positve up to positve like your supposed to, nothing happens, but if i go positive to negitive and vice versa, its all good.wierd i kno, i was like maybe i did it wrong, but i looked at it for an hour, the markings are backwards lol. ahhh quality control..... but anyways, i took these same exact subs and amp from a ported box, and moved them to a non ported box with almost twice the airspace of the original box, and wow do they hit harded, id say an easy 60% improvement. odd thing is, the old box had the correct airspace for the subs, and was ported. so i donno but i like it! thanks again guys
