Anyone Run the optional Sub boxes with new hardware?

I'm considering to get and retrofit one of those orininal optional subwoofer systems, but use new speakers and amps. Just reuse the boxes I guess. That and the gain button of course

So have anyone done this? Or do you all go with 6x9's.

I personally dont want to stuff the hatch area with speakers, as I nneed room for both a n2o bottle, and luggage space. Also since I have T-tops, they would cover the speakers alot anyways.

I guess I want a discreet install, but the best possible. Anyone done this?
Whats your experience? Worth it, or not?

few people are trying to put subs where the 6x9 go. But I am pretty sure thats hella lot of work and you gotta buy thin subs i would assume and the rear seats would be useless because the person sitting there would be yelling at you to turn the system down or their ears will bleed. Also you would have nothing but sound in the front and bass in the back
