Sound Deadening
Hey guys, I have been doing alot of research about sound deadening and sound dampening and have heard mixed results. Im working with somewhat of a tight budget, so I am looking for an alternative to the Dynamat Extreme. I looked at RAAM mat, which looks like a pretty good value. I have also heard other things about Faat mat? I'm just looking to do the hatch area and mabye my doors. Also, wondering how much of a difference it will make if do my doors too.

Covering the doors and hatch are will make a huge difference in deadening the sound and road noise.
Second Skin (Damplifier) makes a good product also. There is a thread in this section on them.

Yea Im leaning toward eDead. Its only a buck per square foot and in about 40-50mils thick. And I figured I could double it up in area if I need to.

+1 for Second Skin, it's the only product I've heard NO complaints about. You may also want to consider a spray on deadener; it is avaliable from Second Skin and Ed and goes on like truck bedliner. The extra you spend on it will be more than paid for in the time you save applying it.
Re: Sound Deadening
Ive used fat mat before and I have no problems with it. I just did my doors and no more rattles from them. stuff works great and it was dirt cheap.
My buddy had a rattle also in his car and I gave some to him.. he had no clue what the stuff was so I showed him and it worked like a charm.

So I'm from europe and also on budget as You. Whan I calculated how much would coast me to order dynomat from USA to Latvia I started to think does it worth.. Unfortunatly I got STP vibroplast M1. This is Russian production and coasted much cheaper (~30$ per square meter) Totaly I did whole hatch, flour, doors. Used ~7-8 sq. meters. The differece was as day and night.
So if you R interested in try here:

STP is very popular in Europe... None cheaper in market... The best price/quality

I've done this research already guys, I've been through it all. My cars have the cheapest of all sound deadener in them but when I do a new vehicle it will have Second Skin products in it only. It is the best, sound deadener is all they do. If you want another option, look into Elemental Designs lineup. For the very slight difference in price I would opt for the Second Skin.
