New Audio system.

How does this look:

Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD: My Double Din Headunit
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130AVHP...p4000dvd&tp=75

Infinity Kappa 462.9cfp: 4X6
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1084629...fp.html?tp=100]

Infinity Kappa 693.9i: 6X9
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1086939...-9i.html?tp=91

Alpine MRP-F300: 4 Channel X 50 W RMS amp
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500MRPF...00.html?tp=115

Bass Blockers: 800 Hz cutoff, 50 W RMS (For front 4X6's)

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_127BB80...ockers&tp=3216

Rockford Fosgate RFK8i: Amp wiring kit, 60 amp fuse
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_575RFK8...i.html?tp=2919

StreetWires 14-gauge Ultra Cable™ Speaker Wire:
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_211UCT1...e.html?tp=1541

I think that's about everything i need. If there are better options to what i have listed or if im missing anything please let me know.

Also I wont be buying these off crutchfield but will purchase everything elsewhere for much lower prices. And for those that don't think the double din headunit will fit, i already have the pioneer headunit listed above installed in my camaro so in fact it does (with a good amount of fabrication). Thank you for your help ahead of time.

Re: New Audio system.

Great choice on the Infinity's, Kappa series is amazing sounding, I've installed them in many cars and amplified or not, you cannot get them to distort, simply amazing sounding. Bass blockers is a great idea for the fronts, but make sure the amp has a gain control for the front speakers, or you'll get hell in high's.

The head unit I simply love, I've put several in freight liner trucks, simply awesome.

The alpine amplifier will put out much cleaner sound than the head-unit at much better quality, as well as more wattage, however if you need even more, you can parallel wire them to the bridge for the front/back and lower them to 2ohm, but they may get a little distortion at 2 ohm.

8-gauge power/ground is a good size for this, personally I prefer to have a 8gauge power/4gauge ground. You'll need two RCA cables for front/back, not sure if that wiring kit comes with two, that or do speaker-level inputs for the amplifier.

The 14-gauge speaker wire is right on the dot for size, if it was subs I would say 8-10gauge but for 6x9's and 4x6's its perfect, shouldn't lose any power at all.

Right now I run Pioneer all around, 6x9's, 4x6's, head unit, and amplifier, soon to be subs. Very good brand, sounds great, and from working with Infinity product, its top of the line aside from rockford. Alpine I haven't done much work with, other than head-units and subs, so I cannot input much on that.

Re: New Audio system.

Reason for the larger ground is because internally in the amplifier are capacitors, they charge up, and release more power along with whats already there, so instead of say 40amps 14.4v in, it'll send a 50amp 16.4v out in a burst, well if your 8gauge handles 40amps in with 14.4v, it'll need a heavier wire to move 50amp 16.4v out. OFC an 8gauge can handle 50amps just fine, its when you get up to 1000+ watts you need 4gauge main / #0 ground.

Just an example.

Awesome thank you. I also found some nice 4 channel RCA cables that should do the job just fine.

Re: New Audio system.

Make sure that they are wound and insulated, #1 problem with audio systems is picking up engine noise, you might consider getting a noise-suppressor for your head-unit's switched (ignition) 12v.

Re: New Audio system.

Do you have subs or are you getting them. If not, Why are you getting the bass blockers? I've only heard of those in audio system with subs because the subs do the bass and the speaker the rest.

I felt like i would have better base coming from behind me from the 6X9s and leave the 4X6's for the highs.

Re: New Audio system.

That head unit probably already has a built in HPF(high pass filter). Bass blockers wount hurt to throw them on the front speakers tho. I know what u were going for when i saw the bass blockers. I used to have some on my old systems. Now my alpine does all the filtering i need for all speakers and subs. Sounds like a good set up man. All together you will have a really nice sounding system. Crutchfield is amazing also. Im a huge supporter of them. Customer service is AMAZING!!!

i would add a set of subs and another amp also...Even if your not bass crazy get 2 tens...it will help finish up the rest of sound spectrum. Good luck man. Let us know how it sounds. As far as i can tell it should sound very good.

Re: New Audio system.

I ran one rockford twelve in a sealed box for a bit, sounded amazing in itself, and it hardly took an amp to run.

OK, yea I somewhat agree with that. I thought you were going to put them on all of them, that would be pretty pointless. I wound like to hear back and see if that works out cause I really don't hear my back speaker when I'm driving so I wonder if you'd only hear the thump and not the beat. Hope you get what I'm saying. other then that nice set up.

If you put subs in please bolt everything down. I'm not kidding around here every person that has sub you can guess it's a stock box and there trunk sounds like its about to pop open or something going to fall off. Not that I think you wouldn't cause clearly you giving the sound a lot of though but just to make sure you go the extra yards.

completely agree with this. if you're amping a speaker, the bass wont be as bad for it. i would just say adjust your LPF on your amp to about 160hz. this will still give you some good low-mid and clear highs, without distorting your 4x6's.

bass blockers do a good job, but its one more line of travel for your signal. you want to keep that as tight as possible for the best sound.

also, one more thing....its a good idea to run power on one side of the car, and signal on the other. this also helps with ground and engine noise.

other than that...your sys should sound prettty freakin amazing!

good luck!

I made a custom box out of 3/4 mdf for my subs and amp rack. My box fits VERY tight and i still went the extra mile to make sure it wouldnt move around or rattle. Only rattle i have right now is from the exhaust and thats because it was just mocked up for now(winter time work). I also used an off name brand of dynamat in the trunk. I like loud music but i have to have quality music. I cant stand rattles and distortion and all the crap you usually hear coming out of 92% of set ups these days. I do hang out at the local audio shop way to much tho. I think its a disease.
