I've seen them just mounted, why waste money on gauge pods?

Re: Tweeters In A Coustome Place! Please Look!

i thought it would just be a cool *** mod for our cars, i would love the idea of having them there. i dont care about spending the money on the pods for the reason being they get hook ups i guess, but would a pod fit on both sides?

No, you would have to custom make a "mirror image" pod for the passenger side.

or you could try finding pods for LHD vehicles.

All I can say is Do not take the Covers off in that area. They are hard to find in good shape, cause the tabs that hold the clips in place break almost every time. I put new head liner in my car, and had to buy two new ones @ the junk yard. Still a few broke. Not worth it. Get some good dash speakers. If not then put some tweets in the air vents.

Its a very cool sounding idea, but the whole idea of putting the tweets on the pillar, is to direct the sound to your ears. That may be hard to do if they where in a pod. Id say do it if your wanting to take the risk of screwing up your covers. Whats it worth to ya?

That would be a great place to put them, I did something similar, I actually placed them in the window triangle just a few inches away, I would have actually done this, but I already have a 3gauge pillar pod with gauges in them... check this out

Re: Tweeters In A Coustome Place! Please Look!

I don't have pictures since it's been about 8 years but in my old camaro I had 6 free standing tweeters in the front. I mounted the tweeters in the vents...nice for a stealth look and they still sounded great. You just use some of that plumbers strap and bend it into a C shape and mount the tweeter to it. Never had a problem with them moving around and my car was broken into twice and the only thing not stolen was those tweeters lol.
