New System in the RS - New Pics!!!
So I bought a sub box for the back of my car from a guy on here and then bought 2 10" Kicker CVR's and a Power Acoustik 1250W 2-channel amp and should be getting them in later this week. Ill post up some pics when I get all of it setup. Paid $129 for both subs and $118 for the amp (prices include shipping to my home) and $35 for the box.
Anyone have any Power Acoustik amps or heard of how they run? Good or Bad?

Re: New System in the RS
Ive heard of the brand before I bought it but wasnt really sure on how they perform. It is 1250 Watts, I will take a picture of it tomorrow and show ya. But I did get my Kicker CVR's in today, so I should have it hooked up here inna couple days. I think im gonna have to make a amp rack in the spare tire area, so we'll see.

Re: New System in the RS - New Pics!!!
So I took the top piece of the sub box off because I didnt want to try and make the round subs fit in the square holes, I went and bought a piece of MDF and fit it just right and then cut the holes for my CVR's. I took a piece of black vinyl and glued it to the top of the box and it turned out really good! You can see in the pictures. Then I built a amp rack in the spare tire area. Well I dont have the spare tire holder so I had to make my own but it wasnt very hard, shown in pics.

The amp isnt to bad. I had some off brand amps in the past. Take the gain to 50%. Go to 75% if you want to risk it. For that price you may not care if it blows up, but if you want it to last then somewhere between 50-75% should be okay. I have an alpine amp that is 75%.

Re: New System in the RS - New Pics!!!
Well I got everything hooked up today and for what I paid for it, it hits harder than my old system and I love it! My amp got a lil warm but that should be normal once it gets used to bein used lol. Subs hit pretty hard but I didnt crank em' up too much cuz I know ya gotta break them in when their brand new. But overall they sound awesome! Got all the wires hidden nicely and hooked up with a breeze. And my box is so heavy right now that it is really hard to get out of the car when I need to, the subs weighed it down pretty good. And with the subs in, yea I dont have anything to grab onto it to pull it out now. I saw someone put handles on it but if someone does break into the car, I want them to have a hard a$$ time gettin that box out haha.

Have you ever had a system stolen? First thing I learned is get the alarm first. Mine cost $30 on craigslist, it was new in the box, & I hooked it up myself. Their is a lot of wires but the best thing to tell yourself is, "take it one wire at a time". My first alarm install went real easy with the supplied scimatics.

Well I had a system in my 98 Dakota I had but I took the speakers out and sold them, then traded the truck for my camaro. So an alarm is the next thing that I wanna get for the car. I have been looking for one but I dont think I want to install it myself lol. I would pay the $100 for someone to hook it up right.

Ya if you have the money its easy to just pay. I paid to put an alarm in a toyota. 50 miles later the motor locked up.

Re: New System in the RS - New Pics!!!
I've learned the hard way twice that an alarm is a good idea (once in a Camaro, once in my GTP). Although it may cost a bit to get it done right (soldered connections, hidden brain, sensor hook ups, etc), it is usually less than having to replace a whole system.
Something most people forget too; insurance companies do give discounts when you have an active anti-theft system, aka alarm. Plus its the same wiring as remote start, definitely a plus up here in new england around winter time.

I hate people... I'm only 16, but this is rediculous... From all the stories I've heard... You used to able to leave your car unlocked with the keys in it... and be safe?
Now you can't even have a nice car without someone #$%^ing it up somehow.

Yup pretty much. You can barely see my subs through the back window because its 5% window tint and I dont have my subs running ALL the time so it hasnt been a problem, yet. I just hope there isnt any problem ever lol.

Re: New System in the RS - New Pics!!!
Well that was the issue when I bought the box. I wanted the box cuz it was so cheap but then once I got the box in there and realized I couldnt fit the t-tops in there, it sucked. The box is extra tall to allow for more area for the subs. I was about to cut it down so I could fit the t-tops which I still might do because the subs I have now do not need that much area. The box that I have was made for 2 10" L7's which is why the box is so big to begin with. I would like to have a box that is level with the hump in the back so I can put the ttops in there. I actually havent had my ttops off since I got my system just because of this issue.

Well the amp is doing pretty good. It pushes enough power for my CVR's and they sound pretty d@m good.
