Re: amp wire

For the power wire, I ran through the passenger kick panel into the fender and routed it to the bay with the computer wires. As for the ground, I drilled a hole in the spare tire area than used a couple star washers and bolted it in place.

Re: amp wire

But isn't your battery on the passenger side? are you going to go across the firewall than down wheel well? thats a lot of extra wire. I used a wiring kit and I only had about a foot and a half left over so you might be better off buying by the foot if you go this route. good luck with the install.

Re: amp wire

Just make sure that anywhere that + wire runs through metal, it's really really protected! I ran mine similar as above (through pass side), and I encases the wire inside a piece of fuel line with an inside diamter large enough to encase the amp wire, and drilled my hole large enough for the outside diameter of the fuel line.

I have had the privilage of buying several 3rd gen parts cars because some idiot ran their amp wire through the pass side door without protection, and it eventually wore the sheathing off, grounded, shorted, exploded the battery, and burnt the car past repair before the fire trucks arrived! I car I got burnt this way, so bad that the carb actually melted into as puddle on top of the intake!

So unless you want me to get another parts car - protect that amp wire to the extreme!
