rear seat delete for subs

i almost have my car running again and i want a LOUD system but still want to put my t tops in the back with out worrying about damaging my subs, so i want to remove the rear seats and build a sub box to fit where the seat was. I was also considering making shelves in the front of my sub box for the tops like in the sting ray vetts but idk how to go about doing this, any ideas guys?

fiberglass and patients haha. Could probably do it all out of MDF but im no carpenter so I try to stay away from wood based enclosures. Didnt the 4th gens have T-Top trays in the back or something like that too? It would be cool if done right good luck with it and keep us posted!

Do you have picks of that setup, with your seats in there too?

Re: rear seat delete for subs

Hi I have a similar camaro, but I can't find anyone with the specs of their box design. Is it possible that you could post your specs of your box design so I can do something similar?

Re: rear seat delete for subs

The ideal enclosure size for a particular sub can be found within the manual that came with the sub. Not all enclosures are the same for every sub size, as well the volume changes based on whether you are building a sealed or vented enclosure. These are guidelines, which you should try to accommodate for best sound, however available physical space sometimes overrules with a slight degradation of performance.

Here is a Kicker sub example.
