OEM Harness is Cut-HELP!
I have a 1990 Camaro Iroc and the factory harness has been cut. I am looking to make it look as much back to factory as possible but don't know how to go about this. Is it best to look around at junk yards and cut one from a car there or can I buy one? I understand I will have to splice all of the wires that are coming out of my car and connect it to this harness.
I want to be able to either put back in my factory stereo or have an easy installation for an aftermarket unit.
Anyone else dealt with this? Any imput would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

Thanks for the help!
I am looking around to buy this harness but it appears most of these are for cars that currently have the factory plug in them. What can I look for or search for to make sure I get the right one?

Re: OEM Harness is Cut-HELP!
I have the same issue with my 87 IROC Z28. Its common to find factory radio harnesses cut this way. Installers dont bother finding adapter harnesses when they install aftermarket. I just spliced and soldered my stereo wiring. However if you really want to go back to original, it may help to know that most OEMs used common connectors across diferrent carlines for particular year ranges. In other words, you may find the connectors, and I think there are two seperate connectors for the stereo, in other GM vehicles from that year or years close to it. I suggest looking through wrecking yards that stock 80s vehicles. It helps to know just what the connector looks like so be sure to look closely at your factory radio for the connector shape. The terminals in the connector are available through NAPA if you need to replace or change some.

I grabbed myself a factory harness from the junkyard, they didn't charge me a cent for it. You should be able to grab a harness from any of the 90's GM vehicles. as for pin outs, I always keep this one nearby (can't take credit for originally posting it, just keeping it alive):

Yeah they are readily available at the junkyard.I always grab the harness pigtail whenever I pull a junkyard radio.Matter of fact when I bought my 86 Iroc its radio connectors were cut off in order to wire up an aftermarket unit.First thing i did was get a set of factory connectors from the junkyard and splice them back on.I would figure most junkyards wouldnt charge much if anything at all for a radio harness pigtail
