Hey guys, can get a decently reasonable price on this system

2 x 12" Insignia sub-woofers
Bassworx Box
800W Insignia Amp
2 x 12"speaker covers
All Necessary Wiring (4 Gage power wire and ground/RCA wires/ETC)
JVC Car Deck - KD-G310 - No remote control

I know I will have to ditch the box, but my question is what speakers(6x9s) would you recommend to go with this setup?

id recommend going with something else. how much are you getting it for?

well either way a great budget 6x9 are pioneer they work well with low power

 

Looking like 275 right now.

you can get something better for that budget. my previous stereo was build at that price level

but if that what you are going with all you need is some Plate 4x6 for the front

 

what will the 4x6 do? for a speaker mount or something?
will the 6x9s just plug into the stereo directly or do I need an amp?

If it is really a crappy system i wont get it. What would you suggest? aiming to spend around $300

4x6 are the speakers the go in the front under the dash, the front stage is very important if you want decent sound. you dont need an amp for the 6x9, but you may overpower their sound if you have high powered lows

would Dual 10" JL Audio subwoofers for $150
The amp is a street beat series 2 by MEI 220 x 220 watts RMS - bridgable to one channel and built in low pass cross over for subs.

How would this be? I know I would still need the headunit and speakers, but would it be a decent start?

i didnt know you were in canada, audio prices overthere are ridiculous. try some of the canadian audio forums. there are always great deals to be had in places like that.

 

Yeah, the prices are ridiculous. That is why I am looking at used (almost) complete systems.

 

Not a bad budget system.

For a good price on some front and rear speakers give Davis a call over at Selective Sounds in Mississauga. He has dealt with a few f-body friends of mine.

Ok so I got the system, I know i have to get the 6x9s and the dash speakers, but I drew a wiring diagram to be sure Im right so far.

Sorry its small right now, Im having troubles getting it with my mac

Another question: does the aftermarket Headunit get power from the the amps or something? Mine has no power or groud hookup..
