Re: mtx or Boss 6x9s?

Consider what I'm doing and putting a 6.5 component set in the sail panels. I'm going all out with the premium speaker wire and dynamatting the inside of tha sails but you could just grab a couple pieces of MDF board and make yourself a new plate to replace the stock 6x9 plates and use the eisting wire without the dynamat.

Of course, the sound quality and low frequency reproduction won't be as good.

Are you trying to drive them straight off the head unit or amp them?

Yeah. The 6x9s from a PO I took out were OK like that until I drove them on an amp. Be very leary of speakers that advertise that much wattage for <$50

If you're looking for good cheap speakers I would just get a set of Pioneers. Sometimes you can pick up a used pair for $30-$40.
