Re: pioneer DXT-2266ub help

as with any aftermarket radio, you'll need a wiring adapter to plug into the car harness, an antenna adapter to attach the factory connector, and a mounting kit to get the radio to fit in the din & 1/2 hole.

as for the speakers, you'll need to make adapters to get the rears to fit in the 6x9 spots, but should be pretty easy. up front, it may be tricky since the factory pieces are 4x6

What install issues are you having with the dask speakers?

What kind of speakers (make, model, size) are you trying to install?

pioneer 6" speakers, not only are they too big around but they are also too deep to fit in the stock location, i cant figure a way to get them through the dashpad so that it can go back on like normal and lay flat otherwise the being too deep problem wouldnt be a problem

without a lot of cutting and creativity, the front's are not going to work. your best bet would probably be to grab a set of decent 4x6's and try and sell the 6 1/2's to try and recoup a few bucks.

1ADAN's solution is probably your best bet.

There are some 5 1/4" speakers that would fit in the dash in the stock location under the pad. Just make sure to find a set of speakers that are less than 1 3/4" deep (otherwise you'll end up cutting into the top of the gauge cluster ).

I've seen a set of 6" in the dash but the owner cut the top of his dashpad in order to mount the speakers (personally, I wouldn't cut my dashpad, I'm just giving you options).

well i'm not gonna sell my speakers or cut the dash, i guess i'll just have to find a way to mount them somewhere else like maybe the doors?

Re: pioneer DXT-2266ub help

wow old thread, but, would having the stereo hooked into the ignition (red wire) and the dead 12v (yellow wire) together be bad, because well i have no 12v wire really because it isn't hooked up i guess, would this kill my alternator if i was really jamming and had an mp3 hooked into it? i'm pretty sure it would as i'm gonna be on my third in 4 months now and although there remanned duralast ones, i really didn't have any problems until i put the stereo in, i just want my car to work dammit
