Speaker options, 3rd gen camaro

Alright, so, currently this is just a brainstorm. I'm not gonna work on swapping the Boss deck that was put in sometime around 03 or 04 by he previous or twice previous owners until I have some other issues (posted elsewhere) worked out, but I do want a few tips if you are willing.

First, rear speakers, 6x9's, Kicker KS960's, to be precise, will be put in, but the problem is that the ancient Sony 6x9's back there which are a meager 35W RMS per speaker rattle the bejesus out of the back end of that car. All of the trim panels are rattling. I'm going to raid the junkyard and find some nice, non busted, less scuffed pieces, but does anyone have any advice as to how to prevent rattling? The crossbar piece of plastic in the back has like, three screw holes busted out, the rear pillar plastic is rattling like crazy, and the right speaker cover is rattling. I put the Sony's in 'cause the cheap replacement speakers fell apart, the right tweeter pod fell off, literally, I hit a pot hole the size of a Miata, and the pod fell off... Maybe it was a Miata... I dunno, either way, the cheap speaker flew apart, so I put those Sony 6x9's back there that where in boxes in the back of our '73 Fiat 128 Sport before we sold it.

Front speakers, Kicker KS460's will be put in the dash, I do not want kick panel speakers, nor do I want to cut holes in the doors. Any rattling upfront I should address? I don't use the front speaker currently, 'cause, well, there's only one, on the right side, who knows what happened to the left, why it's gone, or what logic was behind removing it.

So basically, current issues:

Rattling, rear, possibly front, don't use front speaker, only one of 'em still in there, no clue why...

Front speaker options, anything other than dash location without cutting a hole in the door or kick panel speakers? 4x6's are fine if I have to stick with them, I'll just put a high pass fade on 'em.

The terrible Boss Audio stereo is hardwired to the car, the previous owners cut the plug and wired it in, bunch of morons. Should I solder a factory plug back in or just crimp it?

And, anything else you can think of for a car stereo? I DO NOT want a subwoofer in that car, I'd get blown out the door.

Oh, and, I plan to put this deck in it,

As far as I know you can not use the factory plug with aftermarket stereos, you have to hardwire it in like the boss stereo you have right now.

Also, you can fit some 5.25" speakers where the 4x6 are in the dash with minor trimming.

Alright, thanks for the info, and yeah, you can get a factory to aftermarket adapter, I prefer my stereo not to be hardwired in. Crutchfield.com sells it, as seen here:

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1207018...s.html?tp=2977

I just want a factory plug back in there, it's easier to remove the stereo if something goes nuts, and it's a cleaner install.

Also, do I have to modify the dash pad if I put 5.25" speakers in the dash? And do the 5.25's have to be shallow mount or anything?

No, you do not have to modify the dash pad, just some of the ribs under the speaker. As far as shallow mount speakers, they will help with the fitment. You may want to do measure inside the dash before you buy anything.

Oh and thanks for telling me about the adapters, i didn't know they were made for uor cars.

No problem, that will fit any GM with that style harness. I actually pulled one out of the junkyard for the earlier style harness that fits my fathers '86 Oldsmobile custom cruiser, I made a pre-85 to post 85 GM harness, so my fahter can start pulling newer factory stereo's out of the junkyard when his breaks

Anyhow, I've got a lot of wiring to sort out on that car.

Oh, meant to ask, what front speakers are you using so I can look up the dimensions on them? I'll try to find a set that matches that I like the sound of.

Push comes to shove, I'll get some plate style 4x6's and set the front to high pass, rear to full range.

At the moment I am using these. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...ries/TS-G1344R
But in the near future I'll be upgrading to Infinity's Reference series 4x6 plate speakers.

Why would you swap out the 5.25" speakers? Don't they work good? Or do they rattle?

Ah, that sucks, tell me how those plates sound when you get them, I've been looking at a set. I'm probably just gonna use a set of plates and put 'em on a passover so they don't get many lows or mids.

Re: Speaker options, 3rd gen camaro

Picked out a deck and rear speakers, however, I'm debating on some front speakers, what would you recommend for metal, rock, and the occasional bit of electronic (Electro-Industrial) music?

Rear sail speakers:

Kenwood Excelon Deck:

These are the front speakers I'm debating on, which ones would you say are the best for the aforementioned types of music? If you can bear metal, rock, and aggrotech, I can link you to some of the music I listen too if you PM me and want to help. If you have used these speakers, please give me your opinion, that goes for the rears I've chosen too.
