Re: Component Setups

I've never seen components in our cars that didn't look ridiculous to be honest, there is little to no point in doing a component setup because that would require door mods, possibly building out and then mounting the tweeter in the flat panel is there a reason why you're asking? Are you planning this or?

I built these solely for performance, but I do have to admit that I'm quite fond of how they look too.

Re: Component Setups

I like those, normally when people think components they automaticly go for the door, those look good and probably sound great I've been toying with the idea of kick panel speakers but I'm too lazy to do the fiberglass work for it, maybe when work slows down and I have free time ill get around to it, I just blew my 4x6 on the drivers side so I'm gonna do the 5.25 up there and when it gives up on me i will probably do something like those, that's awesome work c

I really would like to go with kick panels, but am not willing to give up that much clutch pedal room. Maybe one day I will make my own with super shallow drivers.

My car has a manual and it's not in the way at all. I had to give up my dead pedal, but thete's plenty of room to shift.

The trim panel tweeter is a good idea. Fairly simple I assume?

Yes, that is actually what I mean. With the old auto, you could use the area where the clutch would normally be to rest your foot.

You and I spoke a while ago about making a set of slim kicks. You weren't interested at the time, how about now? The kicks you made look great.

Yup, very easy. There was no room for the tweeter cup nut, so instead I epoxied the cups in place.

What size is that? Brand?

That set-up looks great. The tweeter looks right at home in the pillar.

Re: Component Setups

Infinity reference series, 6.5 speaker, they're good speakers for the price they have good miss and highs so if you use subs they blend perfectly

Yup 6020CS is the part number. They are fine. I think they are seriously hindered in the dash though.

Re: Component Setups

I have an ADS 4" component system in my Camaro. 4" is in the stock dash location with an adapter, tweeter is on each door where the power lock switch is located 9manual locks on my ride). I've heard both the pillar mounted tweeters and th door mounted ones - definitely prefer the door mounts, although most cars can't have them that way.

The door speaker idea is good - at least for the woofer as you don't lose any foot space , but the tweeters need to be up higher and/or aimed at your ears.
