Hello, I'm new on here having just joined so please go easy on me and cut me some slack whilst I learn the ropes, so to speak!

I wish to fit a single din radio into my 87 GTA Trans Am and need some advice on which conversion kit I need to buy. At the moment there is just a huge double din sized hole in my GTA.

Any advice would be most welcome! Thanks in anticipation and I look forward to some happy chatting over the coming weeks.

Hips

Re: Advice Wanted!
This should work for you: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1982-1987-Pontiac-Firebird-SINGLE-DIN-Radio-Dash-Kit-METRA-99-4700-/140907975360?pt=US_Car_Audio_Video_Dashboard_Installation_Kits&hash=item20cec512c0
I'm assuming you are installing this yourself, but if you went best buy or something I'm sure they have a similar bracket for the single DIN install

Thanks for that. Had a look but they don't ship to the United Kingdom (where I live). Gives me an idea what to look for though! Thanks again.

Re: Advice Wanted!
Hey no worries. Good luck with that new stereo install. Just a quick question: why not go with a 2 DIN head unit? Most people lack the space to do a 2 DIN swap, and I know they make a small thin bracket to make it look completely stock in those firebirds (though it is kind of expensive).

Hey! Cost mainly! Got an old Clarion single din radio cassette that looks the part. Don't want anything too modern looking. Will look what's available kit wise, you've given me a head start on what to look for. Thanks again, appreciate your help.

Go to walmart and pick up the mounting kit. I run a HUMount now but IIRC the mounting kit is around $20.

Re: Advice Wanted!
Why not put an oem radio in it with an aux input and be done with it. After all it is just a radio. I take it you don't care about the original look.
