Good place to mount 12" sub or not?
Good place to mount 12" sub or not?
I need to find a good place to mount my 12". I have the factory Bose enclosures with infinity 6 1/2's inside the locking cargo area so I was thinking about mounting it inside the trim on the drivers side rear( like the spare tire on the other side ). I think I can get it in there. Would this be a good place to mount it since bass is non directional anyway? Also the enclosure it is in now is sealed would vented be better for that location? I need a place to put it out of sight to keep theives away.
As far as the sealed/vented question...it depends on the type of speaker. Speakers require different volumes of air depending on how they are built. As for mounting it...in my opinion i would find a box to fit your speaker instead of mounting it to a body panel.

I would use a sealed inclosure since it would require less airspace. I also like how speakers sound in sealed inclosures, but thats a personal preferance. There's not too much room in that spot, so it might be difficult to make a box for it.
