as for an amp, I dunno, but in my opinion, the best subs are Infinity Kappa Perfect Subs. The freakin cone is made out of aluminum! the 10" is 1200W max, and the 12" is 1400W max!

Hey, it's me. i replied to your other topic about the GM/Chrysler radio. About this topic:
My brother has three Alpine 12" subs in the rear storage well of his Camaro being pushed by an Alpine 5-channel V-12 amp. I have two Pioneer 10" subs pushed by a 300 watt JBL amp. My two 10"s hit just as hard if not harder than my brother's three 12"s, because of the way I installed the 10"s. My subs are facing down into the well area of my third gen.,while my brother's are facing up. If you would like to see what I mean, drive into Round Rock sometime to the shop. We're open on Saturdays also, in case that may be your only available day. E-mail me at jakeever@yahoo.com if you would like to contact me.
Anyway, there are several different ways you can build your system. I've had 6 different F-bodies and they all had different system set-ups. I am ripping out the two 10's I have now and going with four 12"s in the next few weeks. I can show you pictures and go into more detail if you decide to stop by the shop or get in touch with me since you're just down the road.
later.

I like the Kicker Solo-Baric. I'm putting 1 12" in (The new ones a square) and putting about 750 watts of Kicker amp power to it. It should do ok. :-) The solo's take very little air space, handle about all the power you can throw at them, and sound awesome!
Really, it all depends on your budget. I'm gonna have around $1500 in just the sub, box, sub amp, and wiring. I'm doing the install myself, and I have a friend that offered to build the box for like $30.

Starting to look like the Kicker poster child!

If you got the money I've heard two of these subs at a car show and they floored everything else there. They really do live up too their name.
The guy had two 12" Magma's and one of their amps pushing them. http://www.earthquakesound.com/carmain.html
A guy here on campus has two of their 6x9s being pushed by a RF360a2 and they are amazing!

Steven, I got 2 words for you: Eclipse Aluminum.
You don't need multiple subs to get pounding bass outta just one of these. My best friend has 1 10 inch Aluminum in a 2000 T/A, powered by an Xtant amp, and with the gain almost all the way down, it just pounds!!!
Plus, he still has room to fit things...I can't imagine trying to fit 3 subs in to an Fbody...I still haul stuff with mine!! I'm doing a 10 inch Aluminuim next spring, and taking my current Eclipse amp to power it...400 watts at 4 ohm bridged...should sound sweet.

earthquak is CHEAP crap. sorry. just my opin.
WOW, aluminium cone. well, um, they werent the first. Alumipro made em too, and before that they were made and used in bass quitar amplifier speakers.
however aluminium cone is a plus, but its not what makes the infinitys a good speaker. its all in the magnet and suspension.
infinty has been in audio for a long time and they didnt name them perfects for nothing. 2 12's built as low as you possibly can, which is 12 inches from the bottom of your hatch area. titled and following the 10 deg slope twards the front of the car will get you into the 140's with a good amp, i suggest the ppi 2600. if you want dimensions of the best camaro box ever made. write me.

Orion HCCA amps are the amps that pioneered the "cheater" design. Rated at 25x2 into 4 ohms, but are 1/4 ohm stable under the right conditions and will power a city. Unless you're running them into a low impedance, they're not all that special though.
Just a reminder about booming folks:
Anybody that isn't driving your car isn't impressed by it, and all it does is give law makers motivation to pass more laws. When some idiot shakes me out of bed at 2:30 in the morning, it makes me want to rip his ***** off and wrap them around his head. Just remember that pissing off old people isn't anything to be proud of, so try to use a little tact when playing your music.

Generally, the bigger the sub, the lower it will go and the more power it will take.

For bass I've used two JL 15W6s in one two chamber sealed box. Drivin by a HiFoncis Zues. Dual 6 ohm voice coils wired for 3 ohm per speaker. The Zues puts 450 into each of those. It's real power. Tore up a set of Fosgate Audiophile 12s in a heartbeat before switching. The Fosgate's were crisp, but that was very closely related to design characteristics that caused them to fail when pushed hard. The JLs are not quite as crisp but hit very hard and seem near indestructable. I have never had this stuff installed in my Pontiac. Thinking about it for the fun of it. Any ideas? How about a 6-8 inch midbase driver in the door of a GTA? Something nice in a two way for the stock location on the dash. Drive the four front channels with the Zues' four channel brother? Haven't thought about car audio for a while. What do you think?

One site http://www.audiobahninc.com
I have 2 12 inch ALUM12 max 1000rms
And all I have pushing them is a 420 watt Logic (for the time being) Then I will upgrade to 0awg power wire 3 caps and the AH2200HC 1600watt 2 channel capable of 1.5hms stable Of course I can get audiobahn/ample/pioneer/logic/boss(***** stuff)piramid(more ***** stuff)/mobil authority(and some very ***** stuff) all wholesale from where I work I'm not sure if any of you can order from them online but I believe their site is m&mmerchadise.com Or close to that. It's a dealer in the dfw metroplex although they may be elsewhere too. If any of you know someone that works at a cash america in the dfw or texas area get to know um real good and you might get a hook up although the damn pioneer stereos can be bought and installed at best buy for cheeper then wholesale price. I bought my 12 audiobahns for 128 bucks a piece and that was their top of the line when I bought them audio places weren't even thinking of them when i got a hand on them hell they were selling audiobahns cheep 400 watt 12" for 289 and up :-(
hell what a mark up we don't mark them up that much
so take a look at your local cash america pawn and see if they have some audiobahn stuff and if not ask if they will order you some stuff
