2 10" Subs in the rear

Im just wondering if i should be to blame for this incident --

I was sitting at a red light with my windows down jamming and my buddy said "hey man crank it , i havent heard it hit yet".. I looked around saw no cops so i cranked it WAY WAY UP. Then all of a sudden this dude is screaming at me , so i turn it down and ask him what his problem is and his pointing at his window in his car, im like What the hell are u talking about, and he is saying i did it with my radio!!! Turns out i get a ticket for noise pollution AND have to pay for this dudes window!!!

WTF!!!!

Wait, hold on a second here. You mean to tell me that you cracked the guys windshield that was next to you at a stop light? That's absolute BS. Why didn't you crack yours or your rear window? That doesn't make any sense. I know the hard ships of getting busted by the cops and a noise pollution ticket, a nice $76 ticket. Screw that guy, he probably had a star in his window at one time and never took care of it and then finally ran on him throught the wondow at that point. As far as you cracking his window before yours is absolutely absurd.

You didn't do jack to his window unless you threw a brick through it when he wasn't looking. My stereo hits hard enough to make quarters bounce on the roof of neighboring cars and I'm still in absolutely NO danger of damaging my own glass, nevermind that of those around me. All of the stories about guys busting glass with a pair of 15s are just that...Stories.

Well, i HAVE to have my windows down b/c of the pressure that builds up when at full "boost" i didnt think it could possibly blow out a window with no pressure (being outside my car) but someone said that my trebble (high pitch) could have blow his dirty window out..

You would need excrutiating levels of high frequency content that sustained for a long period of time for that window to shatter from resonation. The typical high frequency content in music is for very short bursts (cymbols). Furthermore, the tweeters in a car stereo would not be able to provide the necessary levels, especially from that distance. I don't know what caused his window to break, but I assure you that it wasn't your stereo.

Or what? I worked for a place that built a 156dB ****box Cavalier hatch back. All SPL measurements are taken with windows up, and if that ****box didn't blow any windows, yours absolutely beyond a shadow of a doubt has absolutely no chance of it.

That is the craziest thing I have ever heard. I have two tens in my car running off of on about 700 watts of my 1100 watt amp and have never come close to blowing my windows, let alone the guy next to me. I would fight that with everything you have. This is what this country is coming to? First it's sueing for McDonald's coffee being to hot (boohoo) and now this!!! Give me a break. Don't let this guy play you like that (like a fool). Good Luck man, I hope all works out for the best.

Matt

Well i bought the car as is. Its all old school stuff, like the 1000 watt legacy amp pushing my 2 fosqate 10" subs. 4 planet audio tweets. 2 4x6 auido mids. and those have a 200 watt amp pushing them. i also have 2 junky *** bass tubes sitting in the back seat but youd be suprised , they actually HIT!! thats about it

And yes, i have to have the windows down at all times if i have her cranked all the way up.

I'm sure it does, but the power of all the legacy amps in the world combined wouldn't make glass break.
