I'm looking for a bluetooth interface that would plug into my amps and remain hidden behind my radio delete plate. Ideally it would power up when the car was on, and would simply be controlled by my IPhone. If need be I could install a hidden volume/balance/fade control in the console box.
Mpow® Streambot Y Wireless Bluetooth FM Transmitter Radio Adapter Handsfree Car Kit with Hands-Free Calling, Music Control, and Charging Port for iPhone 5S 5 5C 4S 4 iPod, Android cell phone, MP3 Players and other devices
^ But for his use, would it not have to plug right into RCA cables for the amps? What to do with the remote wire? I dunno man .. i'll look but not sure.
This looks interesting - has volume & skip control as well.
The amps I have are vintage HK's that were in the car when new - the little one was for the front speakers, the big one for the back. Why I ended up saving them all of these years I'll never know.

Most likely the OP could cut the output wires and run them to the high level inputs on the amp. You can also get just the RCA plugs and connect them to the output wires and connect it to the amp that way. As mentioned though, you're probably not going to have control over the balance/fade functions.
Power is easy, as most of these are going to be either made to hard wire to the radio harness or use a cigarette lighter plug. Run the + wire to the switched ignition wire for the radio and the ground to a convenient spot with a screw or the radio's ground wire.
An easier and cheaper option would be to run a cable with a headphone jack on one end and a pair of RCAs on the other. You could hide the wire in the ashtray or console storage box when not in use.

Cheap, not ideal, but you could try it...
My deck has no bluetooth, but does have aux input... so I plugged into USB for power, and cable into aux, now my cel connects to it for GPS voice directions or music via Pandora... Volume can be controlled via phone... On my android at least...
Get a cable to convert to RCA, you're in for $10 or less...
Again, for some of the other replies - I'm looking to have NO RADIO in the car and install the radio delete plate that came new in mine - but still be able to play music from my phone (Pandora) through amps & speakers hidden in the car.
You could do something like this (though it will be corded) I had a IPOD FM wired transmitter kit laying around from another project. You wire up the audio signals from a source in this case the factory style radio, then you tap the 12v into IGN switch power under the dash which will charge your device. This will even pause your MP3 player when you shut off the car. I know this will work with Iphone, Ipod, Zune. Basically any device that has an audio signal running through the sync/charge port.
Sample pulled from the web. I used the middle cord. As you can see it has the power plus audio all built in. i'm sure you could make one from a USB cable.
Google 'hidden radio'.
Outofsight Audio allows phone/Ipod,MP3 player control.
Custom Autosound has a radio, etc that the unit is hidden, and you use their wired/wireless remotes to control...

Reason: Unit name, added info...
Did you ever find a BT unit that works? In the market for one myself.
Thanks
I haven't yet - my 1987 LB9/MM5/G92 IROC is the one I ordered radio delete and that's the one this will eventually be going in. My 1991 1LE oddly has the top of the line cassette stereo that I have Matt fixing & adding an Aux port to - that should be back in the car tomorrow morning.
Now that the 91 is 100% in shape & ready to cruise, & my 83 L69 is almost done, maybe I can get back on my 87.
Looks l you have many options to choose from. II wanted Bluetooth connectivity as well and bought a jvc media deck. Jvc also has their own app that you can download to control the music on your phone or iPod. The app allows you to play with the equalizer and fade/balance. You would need to figure out how to mount it behind he delete plate but I'm sure it could be done.
Search jvc model kdx320bts. I can't seem to post a link in here.
Also search the jvc smart media control app to view all the features it has available.
Any options if I want to go "full wireless".
Meaning, wireless amp, wireless speakers and a wireless sub. I've got a 92 RS convertible that I'd like to have some more kick to it. But I don't feel like ripping (or paying someone to rip) everything apart.
Not sure how stealthy you want the system to be with your plan to run the delete plate, but Sony make a nice cradle which acts as a Bluetooth interface replacing the head unit. This may be on option http://www.sony.ca/en/electronics/in...ayers/xsp-n1bt
I am thinking of going this route myself, as you gain all the functions of your smartphone from your console, just like the newer vehicles.
I'm looking to go full stealth with the delete plate in place, but the small HK amp in the dash and the big one in the well in the back (where it was back when I first owned the car). Having something hidden in the console box would be fine but I would rather not have a cord running to my phone - bluetooth is the connection I'd like.
I did something similar but without the bluetooth - I used a digital audio amplifier plugged into the factory harness and 4 speakers (radio delete car still came with them!). I then rain the aux-in cable through a drilled hole in the ashtray (bought an extra ashtray for this). When I want audio, I can just pull the cord out and plug the phone in, or prop it inside the ashtray. When I'm done, it tucks away.
Walmart has a 20 dollar stereo with Bluetooth and no cd player in it. Made by XO Vision. I just put one in my bronco cause my stereo died and I needed something quick. It's about half the depth of a standard din head unit is deep. You could wire it up, then set it to bluetooth source and the volume up decently high, then put it in the dash behind the delete plate. Then control the volume through your phones volume setting. You can control everything from your phone and it will be completely hidden!
Works great, sounds pretty good too, especially considering how cheap it is. Mine is mounted in the dash like normal in my truck but I haven't touched the head unit itself once since I put it in.
