cut plastic for 2Din??

Hi guys,

I have this seemingly not vital extremity piece of plastic (marked in yellow in the picture) that prevents my 2Din pioneer unit to plug in. It has no space because the upper side touches the plastic.

Does someone know if I have to somehow cut the plastic?

Guys who already installed a 2din pioneer unit: how did you resolve?

THANKS!!

Re: cut plastic for 2Din??

wtf my car doesnt have that plastic "trim" .It has the ducts for AC but that plastic plate thingy is not there. From the pic I dont think it serves any purpose .There are lots of people here who installed 2DINs and I don't remember anyone having problems with that plastic.

Just for reference...there is a piece of duct work that is attached to the pod by 4 screws. The blade of plastic is part of that duct structure.

Yeah, that's exactly the piece that is causing me so many troubles.

What do you suggest, to cut it?

Why it seems that most of you didn't encounter that problem when installing a 2Din unit?

THANKS!

Re: cut plastic for 2Din??

Probably those who don't have it don't have the problem and those who have it squeeze the unit through that...i mean its plastic and flexible.

then there's something no one thought....maybe your 2 din unit is bigger than anything anyone ever used but I doubt that.

you can always remove the ducts and that solves the problem easy
