Does anyone have 12" Boston Pros
What do you think of them? I am waiting on mine to come from Boston to the audio shop right now, so I figured I would get some opinions. How many db's do you think I might get with two of the 12's being powered by my 1100x1 Memphis 16-ST1000D amp? Thanks

arent the pro series the ones that are like 270 a peice? cuz if they are, i think u can get a better sounding sub from another company. im gonna get punch DVC, i think their 12's are near 200 a peice. ive heard the pro series before at the goodguys. i thought they sounded good, but not good enuf for 270 a sub. just my opinion tho.

my friend had two in his cavalier. they sounded great, but he didn't like how touchy they were. he was having some input voltage problems to his amps, but after blowing 4 of them, he switched to pioneer premiers(also fixed the amps). again, not saying the subs weren't awesome, but make sure you don't give them ANY distortion by setting your amps gain too high. what are the dimensions of your box? cubic ft.?

12" Boston Pros are the best I have seen for the price...period.
Running 2 of these with an Alpine 1500x2 amp (the nice $750 job), a guy I know was pushing up in the 150s with these. The pounding they give is surreal...almost as good as the Eclipse Aluminums IMO.
I plan on running 1 Boston Pro 12 in my car in a custom, stealth-box style enclosure with my Eclipse amp at 400x1 at 4 ohm bridged. They're worth every penny!!

I agree that these speakers are some of the best for the money. Yeah they are a bit pricey ($300 ea.) but the sound quality and the amount of bass they produce is amazing. One thing that was very appealing to me was the fact that they do produce a great deal of bass, but they are also capable of producing very good sound quality. I have heard them in a few different applications, and they never sounded bad.
Daniel- I don't know exactly what DVC's you are looking at, but the only ones that will handle the power that the Boston Pro's will are the Power DVC's, and they cost well over $300. So, I would still say that the Pro's are a better value than the Fosgate. Just my personal opinion.

The old boston Pro 10" subs were not well made. They sounded sweet, but blew constantly. My buddy has been through NUMEROUS 10's, and he's only using a Punch 60 on each sub. I do however, feel that now that he's using a box that I built instead of one he built, those problems won't persist. My point is, they are not durable enough to deal with an improperly built box. His father had a pair of 12" pros driven by 2 channels of a 6x100 watt Macintosh amp ($$$$$$$) and hit 130dB in a Land Cruiser. Not stellar output, but not too bad for such a big vehicle. The new Pro 12s are different than those old ones (the old ones had paper cones) and I have not heard them, but I am considering them for my IROC.
