I had the face plate stolen when i wen in kmart. Do a search on ebay for face plates and look how many you find. HURMM...

Umm mine flipped around backwards(Kenwood). I was just too lazy to remove it and they we're more than happy to remove it for me. Oh well "live and learn." I really think they prob. wouldn't have stolen it if I had removed the face as they would have had to find a replacement face for it. But if they knew what was in there they would have stolen it anyway. The more precautions you take the more difficult you make it for the thief.

All of the above. If you take the faceplate off it does greatly reduce the risk but there gonna trash you car looking for the faceplate and still steal your amps and subs reguardless.
Now Jvprevost had a good idea with using a stock face plate to hide his stereo.

what i dont understand, is why would someone steal a faceplate with no cd player, or vice versa?

its like stealing bologna with no bread...
