Was looking to get an aftermarket cd player for my 92 camaro and would prefer a 1.5 dinn. Saw a 1.5 dinn Koss KS558 and was curious if anyone knows much about Koss. This is suppposed to be 35 X 4 Watt.

I had a Koss CD player, total POS..

 

Don't do it!!!!! We used to sell it for our bottom line head units to people who didn't want to spend much money,but they go well below bottom end stuff.We had way too many problems and quit selling them after only two months of having them on the shelves!Trust me- you don't want one.

We sell Koss at Best Buy where I work. Trust me...there's a very good reason that it's only about 1/3 the price of a name-brand unit....and that's because it's about 1/30th as good.

Generally, Koss decks will refuse to eject CDs within about a month...but some last as long as four months or as little as one day.

We're not allowed to "disparage" products where I work....but any time a Koss comes into my install bay, I always ask the customer if there's a CD in their car, because I refuse to put one of mine in there for testing.

 

There was a KOSS Cd player in my car when I purchased it, and it was the first thing to go. The reception sucked you had to turn it up 3/4 of the way to get any sound, what a piece of crap! Right now that wonderful piece of audio equipment is taking up space at the Miramar landfill.

What about a Jensen? I've seen descent priced Jensen 1.5 din cd players, are they any good?

 

Those Jensen 1.5 decks SUCK!! I put one in my wifes Beretta and it skipped like crazy.She made my take it out after 2 weeks so I bought her a pioneer 1.5 deck like mine. I still have the Jensen deck (could'nt return it cuz it was installed) If you want it I'll sell it to you for $50.
