i have a single 12" kicker xpl with a kenwood 729s amp bridged so it puts out 300 watts rms, the thing does really pound but it killed the car today. i pulled away from school and it just stalled, couldn't start it back up. how do i solve this this problem???

if the battery died from that, then it was already on its way out. sure it wasn't your alternator? My old system consisted of a 4-channel sony amp and 2 channel mobile es amp putting out around 1000 watts and the battery did fine. it was my alternator that died on me. replaced it with a 100 amp one i found in summit and i never had a problem after that. if anyone is looking for a non-serpentine alt., leave me a message, still got it.....

My car is running well over 300 watts rms and my power is fine, even with underdrive pulleys. Alternator, battery thats bad which isn't uncomon. My mom's 99 grand am gt loss power at a gas station saturday, so the first thing that came to my mind was to jump it, and in pulling the cap off the positive the terminal broke off. So, its not uncommon for batteries or enything electric related to do crazy things. Your fine with the amp consumption, take a multi meter and see how much volts your alt is pushing, and have the battery checked out.

Well after lokking the car over thoroughly, after me and my dad towed it home, we figured out that the engine finally died. So afterall the system didn't kill anything.
