Hey experts please answer this!!!
i plan on getting two JL Audio 12's and an MTX 1000d or at least the 500d. What type would i need to wire in parallel to get a 2ohm load? Thanx in advance for your help. Oh contact me i found a guy selling the MTX 12in 6000's for 90 bucks a pop (new).

If you want a single 2 ohm load, you need each speaker to total a 4 ohm load. That can be accomplished by using JL subs that have dual 2 ohm coils. You series-wire the two coils, giving each sub a 4 ohm load. You then parallel-wire the two subs for a total of a 2 ohm load.

Dude, its easy, just take the 2 positives off the speakers, and hook them up to the mono positive, then take the 2 negatives off the speakers and hook it up to the mono negative...make sure both speakers are 4 ohms... =)

if im not mistaken, dont JL audio subs only come in 2 ohm or 6 ohm loads? if that is the case, u will need like 3 subs to get the 2 ohm load. i was gonna go with the JL's 2 yrs ago, until i realized that i neeeded 3 to go with my amp (ppi 2150).
just a thought

W3s are available in dual 2 ohm, dual 4 ohm or dual 6 ohm configs. W6s are available in dual 6 ohm only.
