New to car stero, need help

Hey, I have a Sony Xplode 7000 head unit, JBL GTO 462 (2-60 RMS) and JBL GTO 930 (5-70 RMS) speakers. I want to add an amp to power these speakers and maybe a single sub.
I just turned 17 and don't have much to spend but I do want something for now.

Later,

Dave

you want suggestions on a amp and sub or what? from my impression you want suggestion on soemthing cheap but that'll sound good for your budget?
the cheapest thing your going to find is something one of your friends doesnt want anymore..thats how my friends get their stereo's my old ones!
i would say go with mtx subs they can be found cheap and can hit hard if put in a good box. as for amps i would be more careful about going for a cheap one try to stay away from jensen my first amp was a majestic 200w amp which i still have. for 149.99
good luck hope i ansewerd the right question.

First off, Pimpin, can I be your friend? What do you want to give me? J/K

Second, definately MTX. I bought two thunder 3000 a couple of years ago, and I love them. I still have them and they still bump as good as new. I have had them hooked up to an Alpine MRV 1000, and a Power Acoustic 300w amp.

They sound great for the money, but you can't beat quality equipment. The new Thunder 4000 replace my 3000's, and they are only like $50-$70 each. I bought mine on sale, 2 for 1.

stay away from pawn shops, i've tryed them, most of the stuff is crap, get the Alpine V12 amp that is like 100x4 + 300x1 max power, i think it runs about $350, its a nice amp, it can run your whole system, later.

Hey guys, thanks for all the ideas. My uncle might give me a hand down of either a Bazooka or deul Kickers in a ported box. Both are either 8'or 10', about 4 yrs old, and I was wondering what kind of amp I would need to power these, and which would be better for the car.

Thanks

Dave

how muchare you willing to spend first of all. Also you should probably go with some mtx 4000's or 6000's depending on what you listen to. power them with the alpine t-757 which is 225x2 that should give you some bump. get one of jims boxes hes an expert on this stuff.

I'll second the recomendataion for the Alpine V12 stuff. They are one of the best low/mid-range budget amps around in my opinion. Also you can look at the Kicker Impulse line or MTX.
