Size for kick panel speakers?

Building up a system using a 5 channel amp, a 300w 10" sub in the back.
The amp is rated 75Wrms per channel at 4ohm so I want to maximize the use of that power... Chances are, that will be too loud to withstand in the car honestly.

I'm building kick panel speaker pods for it, originally I had planned on some 6.5s down there, but have realized that is just too big for the location as I feel that would be in the way. So, are 5 1/4 speakers the way to go?

I have cup holders in the doors and I don't want to lose that.

I have 6.5s down in my kick area, they do push out some but since my car is an auto not in the way at all.
5 1/4's would be easier to work with down there if you have a clutch.

Re: Size for kick panel speakers?

Thanks for the pictures. I have a manual so that really would take up some space.
Found some nice kenwood 5.25 speakers rated for 75RMS that should work just fine down there.

It's been fun bargain hunting this system together, lots of reading up for certain things like my amp (it was a budget gem on the "budget gem or budget bust" youtube channel AND I got it for 1/2 price on Amazon for a tiny itsy bitsy little knick in the case, took me and the gf a couple minutes to find it so thank you Amazon.)

I think I'll end up making a thread as I build this as it's a really budget friendly set up that should work well.

I'm currently building some and I'm using 6" with no problems.
