Anyone got a spare Bose radio/cassette?

Guys,

The Bose radio/cassette is faulty in my 88 Camaro. Does anyone have a unit in A1 condition I can buy. Possibly due to you upgradeing. I live in the UK but I'm sure we can sort out postage.
Thanks

I've got a Bose radio cassette deck I took out of my 92 Z28 I would be willing to sell. It works perfectly I just took all of my Bose stuff out when I bought the car and installed a new system. It is the Delco Bose gold series from a 92 so you might want to make sure it will work in your car before buying it. I also have the speakers and amps if your interested in them, I'm keeping the kick panels and rear speaker enclosures though because I modified them to fit aftermarket speakers.

Does anyone know if a 92 gold series Bose will fit an 88 Camaro with 'silver' series Bose? Thanks.

I've got one that I believe came out of an 87 Camaro. I bought some other stuff from some guy and that came with it. I have no idea if it works though or what series it is.

Eric,

Is the radio a Delco/Bose unit with auto reverse and dolby. 4 radio presets and the lettering in silver? I'm sure it will be the same as mine. I think I'd rather go for a unit that is known to be OK as cost of postage, import duty and payment to you will be quite high and so I'd be dissapointed if it did not work. I'm still interested though.
Can you send me your e-mail address and let me know how much you want for it. E-mail me direct sholtby@yahoo.co.uk
Thanks very much

Re: Anyone got a spare Bose radio/cassette?

No a 92 will not work in any pre-1990 camaro as the plugs on the back of the radio are different, however some make an adapter I have seen on Ebay that will hook up a post 1990 radio to a pre 1990 wire harness, not sure if this will work with the Bose systems however do to the way each are wired year after year

Re: Anyone got a spare Bose radio/cassette?

Thanks for the reply mate. It was about 7 years ago I asked this question and I sold my Camaro about 5 years ago! I seem to remember buying the radio from Todd and it fitted and worked ok.
I'm currently driving a Toyota Celica GT4 ST205 which I dont think they ever sold in the states. Great car, cost about $8000 US, was easily tuned to 330 bhp, 4wd, awesome handling, Toyota reliability.
The Camaro was a fun car but I always felt the handling and build quality were very poor.
Cheers
Simon

Still have the radio? Yellow writing right? I have a '90 Iroc without the radio, seem to have the bose speakers and trying to decide if I should keep it factory by buying the bose radio... What are you asking for it? A CD player would be nice though....undecided..

thx,
