Anyone have anything good or bad to say about their CD receivers?.....Thinking about them over Eclipse.

my dad ripped one out of a 91 z28 on his car lot. i havent installed mine yet, but from what i heard when i asked this Q myself, they have the best FM tuner you will find anywhere. I heard the cd player is good too. and after some small researching, i found out that they come stock in new BWMs, so they have to be decent go for the blaupunkt, you wont be dissapoiinted..and if u are i will be too lol

 

If the two were evenly priced, I wouldn't even think twice about Blaupunkt. From my experience, Eclipse is just a better product. But when you factor in price, the Blaupunkt looks better and better.

Not ******* Blaupunkt because I actually have one of their HU's in my firebird, and I have an Eclipse in my Camaro, and I am very impressed with the Eclipse. Especially since I got my radio used for a decent price.

In what way or ways?......

One of the main reasons why I would choose the Blaupunkt is simply because they have a few head units that will keep the "appearence flow" of the interior.

 

OK OK I see...
They do however compliment the lines of the tri gen console.
I would not say that they are a bad unit. Some of the newer ones are actually pretty good looking.
I think that Eclipse just is more appealing to my eye.
the München, San Francisco, Tokyo are all very good looking HUs.
The past few years Blaupunkt has increased the asthetics to compete with more advanced looking units. While it may not look out of this world advanced I would say that it is a good quality stereo.
So if you are looking for something to blend in with the interior of the car then go for it....

 

I like Blaupunkt. I have their speakers in my car. But anyway, my brother has a Blaupunkt in his car... and i like it.

However... Eclipse is just flat out quality, no way around it. Id say go with the eclipse of youre going for a BIG quality system .

i think that fits better than those star trek HU's.. but its all personal preference

 

That's something that I really like about the Blaupunkt. Most look simple while some of their other models look "star trek". Then just about everyone else has models that all look like something from the future, unless of course you buy Sparkomatic I think I have pretty much decided that I am going to go with the Blaupunkt Heidelburg unit.
