12's or 15's
i am selling my banpass that is sitting on my back seat and getting a box that goes in the hatch. should i get 12' or 15's? i can get two punch 15's for 129.90 plus shipping and i was wondering what to do. i want to feel the bass rattle my teeth but im on a VERY limited budget. any suggestions are helpful. tia
I have yet to do the measurments but I think with the amount of space available 12's would be better. I like 12's better anyway. I could get into many other reasons but I'll just say I think 12's would be the better choice.
It really depends on what type of music you listen to. I have a single JL 12" and it makes my teeth rattle. Hell, you can't even swallow a sip of beer sitting in my car with a bass tune cranked up
If you listen to a lot of rap and stuff, then 15's are the way to go (they play a lot lower)
If you listen to rock, then 12's, or even 10's, would be a better choice. They play a lot tighter and do better in the mid-sub bass frequencies.
Also, keep in mind that the enclosure will really make the sound of your sub, of course the speaker has a lot to do with it, but the enclosure is more important IMO
Thomas.

personally, i like my 10" Kickers. Theyre in a custom camaro box and they pound to hell. The 12"s especially in a custom box with the hatch "horn" advantage.. will be PLENTY.
but like everyone else said 15"s sound real low and sound best with rap music. I believe Klayburn has 4 of them nowadays. (rich ghettobastard) haha, jk Klay

Advice: Don't mail-order subs. When you blow them (and you WILL blow $129 15s eventually) it'll be a major hassle.

Another thing is, for $129, I'm guessing they're the XLCs. For the same money or less, you can get a pair of 12" HX2s that will outpound those 15" XLCs.
1 year warranty. That means that within that first year, you need to ship them back to the retailer (which is not an authorized dealer because Rockford dosen't authorize any online sales) and hope that they are still in buisness and decide to honor your warranty. Then after you get done waiting for them to get there, you have to wait for your new one to arrive. This results in some SERIOUS downtime.
