Amp Power Cable Firewall Entrance Location?

In our cars, more specifically a 1988 L98 GTA, where's the best place to route a big 4 gauge power cable for an amp through the firewall. Is there any existing holes? It looks crowded but there is a clearing under where the throttle cable enters the firewall. Is this an ok area to drill a hole for the 4 gauge cable? Will it be easy to find once it's passed through the firewall? Any other suggestions?

If your car is an automatic, use the clutch port. Otherwise theres a slot where the wires come in to the dash. Wire it through there.

You can always come in through the panel behind the kick panel too. There's a nice big flat area where you can drill a hole, and on the outside it will be behind the fender. Then you can run it into the engine bay behind the fender in the corner, and right up front to the battery. If you look on the passenger side, you can see where the stock antenna wire goes. You should be able to use a similar location for the power wire on the driver's side.

I shaved the antenna on my IROC - so im planning on running the cable out the hole the antenna cable came in, then up inside the fender, then inside the engine bay next to the A/C components. Simple, Easy, and out of the way.

My cable also runs thru that plugged-up hole by the steering column.

If you go under the dash by the driver's side, you can use existing studs as a guide to drill a new hole. Make sure to drill from the inside of the car to the engine bay! And don't drill thru your brake booster

My buddy and I ran 4 gauge in his 96 Avenger. He bought a big connector thru Jeg's that is used to relocate the battery in the trunk. We just used a hole saw on the end of my drill, I think 1 1/4", and mounted it thru the firewall, then sealed it with silicone. Then crimped 4 gauge terminals on each side to connect it. As you might know, 4 gauge doesn't bend real easy. This eliminated that prob. Plus the metal will NEVER cut thru the insulation on the wire.

Here's the link, it's about $15, but you can't go wrong by using it. Don't know if the link will work. If not, it's part #710-74145
