I have heard.....nothing but bad for legacy amps.

BUT

Ive never actually heard one , so It might be ok...

I used to have a BOSS amp (alot of pple bag on BOSS too) and it was pretty good. Though appernaltly it was like "1200 WATTS" and I later got a MA audio amp that was 600 and the MA was louder and cleaner.

Check out Ubid for some amps sometimes they have some good 1's , but now they have reserver price wich is pretty gay.

Have you paid yet?

DO NOT.........I REPEAT......DO NOT SEND THE MONEY!!!!!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but look at this link.

Legacy LA790

The same amp for about $105 NEW!!!!!

Just re-register under another name. That way you get no negative feedback on Ebay.

Never mind.

I see that you already sent the money. There are a few places that I looked that have that amp for about that price.

But the one that I posted is the same model # that you said you bought.

Oh well. The place that had it that I posted doesn't have it in stock anyway.

And BTW, don't believe everything you read about wattage from a company that makes $100 amps.

E-bay

Before you buy anything else from E-Bay please contact me. I got something for you and next time do a search on Legacy. I wish you could retract your bid.

I took apart a Legacy amp once. The amp was about 12x8x2" in size. I took the back cover off and found a 4" printed circuit board with a couple caps and 2 or 4 FETS. The amp could have fit into a walkman case.

I have a Legacy 800watt, four channel, 4ohm bridged to 2 channel at 2ohm running on 2 12RF and it sounds good! nothing crazy but friends hear me coming down the streat!

It's only running like 300x2 in reality but it works really good!

No problems!

Legacy is crap. You couldn't pay me to take it. It's good to learn about wiring with though, 'cause you're not screwing up something nice.

Ya Legacy is ****, no offense.... For a temp system its good tho.. They sell down here in Canada for 49.99 at the local audio shop... Thats a 1000 watt amp.... Although the 1000 watt amp was tested and was putting out only 286 rms i think it was... Where as my Rockford is rated at 1000 and is putting out 1116 rms.. One good thing around here is that if u have any Legacy stuff, the thieves wont waste their time with it, they can go buy it for a measely 50 bones... But its better than nothing.... My buddy with that amp had 2 10 inch Rockfords hooked to it and it was barely pushing them, would overheat alot.... He tried to hook it up to his new Alpine Type R 15 and the amp couldnt even push it... Didnt even make the sub bounce.... So he went and bought a Kenwood 1000 watt for 359.99 and the sub pumped....

I bought a nice clarion cd deck off ebay (DXR5752) for $80 in supposedly working condition ... yeah SUPPOSEDLY!!! Damn thing wont turn on sometimes and then later it'll just come on by itself @ 33 volume and no matter what vol U set it stays at 33 (unless u goto 0 then it turns off). Sometimes it'll work good for a few hours and then just switch down to like vol 5 and stay there forever. I've already decided im going to destroy it with a hammer and replace it with a retail deck. No more electronics off Ebay for me.

There is nothin wrong with eBay if you're a smart consumer. Make sure the person has a high feedback rating if you're gonna throw down a decent amount of cash. Read everything that is written. Often people get angry because they don't read the details of the item. If a $500 deck is going for $80, there is usually something wrong. However, there are good deals to be had if you know what to look for. eBay is a perfectly good place to get stuff for good prices.

that legacy rating of 1200 watts is all hype,,,first look at the power and ground screws,,,small arent they,,that tells me that the amp was not designed for high power use,,,then its probably a four channel amp,,,maybe two? legacy has cheap power supplies,,,and the rating is max,,,its probably more like 300 watts constant..with the cheap power supply you can expect the remote gate to close under high volume, dimming headlights when the bass hits,,,huge amounts of distortion at high volume to your subs,,,does it have a built in cross over? undue stress to your alt.,,,also it probably does not have a fan in it,,an amp with a 1200 watt rating anf no fan should be a sign of hyped up ratings..besides its a class a or b amp,,,suited best for highs..
you want a class d amp for subs,,,, my memphis 1000d's are one channel class d amps that run 4 subs each at 1/4 ohm at 1100 watts per sub,,,they have huge power screws and a big fan in them....my suggestion would be to get some memphis or mb quart highs and use the legacy amp to run them,,,then get a good class d amp for your subs,,you can find 1000d amps on ebay for 200-300 dollars,,or circut city has sony xplode 1000d amps for 299 new...
got a little off subject there,,,sorry
just trying to help
