How Do I Wire This

I plan on getting an Autotek 300.2 amp to power my two mtx 10's. Right now I am powewing them with a Pyramid amp. I want to put the Autotek on the subs and move the Pyramid up to my Kicker 6x9's. My head unit only has preouts for front and rear, no subs. Should I use a RCA adapter that makes the 1 rear preout into two, or should I get a crossover, or should I use the speaker level imputs on the Pyramid and use the rear preouts for the subs. I eventually want to upgrade the Pyramid to something better, but i just want something that can boost the power to the Kicker right now until I am able to locate the funds for myother amp. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanx.

i imagine you have dash or some speakers, id power them with the front on the head unit, then put the 6x9 amp on the front preout, and the subs on the rear...

i dont know tho...never heard of that...

Definitely use the RCA preouts. When RCA's are on option, why would you consider going speaker-level inputs? If the 6x9's are in the back, and you want them to fade to the rear, you can use the "Y-cables" to split the 1 rear RCA into 2 sets. If you want the 6x9's to fade towards the front, you'll have to buy another pair of RCA's and run it that way. Cheapest way to do it is to buy the y-splitter. Some amps (your's might, might not have it) have an RCA output that is unaffected by the amp, in which case you can daisy-link the two amps this way.

I have never seen an output that is just for low frequency. I have seen subwoofer outputs with adjustable head frequency. If you split the the rear your just gonna lose quality but probably not that much.

Just get the y-splitter things and run both off the rear outputs...that's in essense what I did (mine is one multi-channel amp), and it works fine.

what kind of head unit do you have? those Kicker 6x9's might be better off being run off the head unit than any Pyramid amp..

if you still choose to run this amp, my suggestion would be to run the 4x6's (dash speakers) off the amp, dont amp the 6x9's. there is no purpose, theyre just there for rear fill. plus the girls in the back will go absolutely deaf.

If it was my car, id save the time and energy of hooking that pyramid amp up and run all speakers off the head unit while saving for a better amp.
